Rules to participate in the XI European Short Film Festival FEC Cambrils-Reus
The XI European Short Film Festival (FEC Cambrils-Reus) will take place in the cities of Cambrils, Spain (from 25th to 28th February 2009) & Reus, Spain (from 4th to 7th March 2009).
The Festival is organised by the POCC and the town councils of Cambrils and Reus and belongs to the Coordinadora de Festivals de Cinema i Video de Catalunya (CIVI). The spanish competition will take place in Cambrils while the European competition will be in Reus.
Conditions
1: Any short film from a European country may be entered and should be in 35mm. format or video, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes and filmed since the year 2007.
2: The films may be of any fictional type.
3: The inscription should include the following:
_ DVD copy of the short film with subtitles in Spanish, French or English.
_Application form (available at www.fecfestival.com).

5: Last day for applications is 30th November, 2008. Applications after this date will not be accepted.
6: A committee will make a pre-selection of the works presented and this will be communicated to the producers or directors.
7: The films presented on DVDs will remain in the festival archives.
8: The directors of the short films selected will be invited to be present at the festival with travel and accommodation expenses paid for the organisation.
9: The short films selected must be sent in their format for exhibition before the 20th of February, 2009. On the outside of the tin or box there should be a label with the title, name of the author, length, format, screen and sound, as well as the return address.
10: Initial postage expenses are paid by the sender and costs of return by the organisers. Copies are insured during the festival from the moment they are delivered until being handed to the returning transportation company.
11: The organisers will delegate a jury of people from the world of films or culture, who will decide the spanish & european prizes. The Bigas Luna award will be decided by himself, and the public award will be decided by the public. The decision of the jury is final. In the event that it is considered necessary to award an ex-aequo prize the amount will be divided among the selected works.
12: The films selected will be screened in public during the days of the festival on the understanding that their authors or producers have authorised their screening.

_ First prize for the best european short film: 4.500 euros
_ First prize for the best spanish short film: 4.500 euros
_ Second prize for the best european short film: 2.000 euros
_ Second prize for the best spanish short film: 2.000 euros
_ Public award for the best european short film
_ Public award for the best spanish short film
_ Bigas Luna award for the best story
_ 1st prize for the best microfilm: 1.000 euros
_ 2nd prize for the best microfilm: 500 euros
14: Selected works may be used to promote the short films and the festival in the media.
15: All the short films presented will be able to be seen on DVD in the section âCurts a la cartaâ (unless there is an indication to the contrary).
16: The Festival reserves the possibility of making copies in DVD of the other chosen films, guaranteeing always copyright, and reserving the showing rights (prior communication and film ownersâ authorization) on different cultural circuits.
17: Participation in this festival implies an acceptance of the rules.
