23/11/07 | I like shorts! 5th edition
It is time again for the fifth university credit M'agraden curts! (I like short films!), organised jointly with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona. In the M'agraden curts! course, the students and general public can discover first-hand the joys and difficulties of being a director of short films (or of the cinema, which is the same). In this way, the main attraction of the university credit is the closeness between the two parties (professionals and students), which helps them understand the cinema from the expert's point of view. The course will start in Cambrils, at the hand of Armand Rovira, who is taking part in the FEC for the first time with the short film ¿Qué será de Baby Grace? (What will be of Baby Grace?), a magnificent postcard of Mallorca played by Àlex Angulo and constructed from fragments of history. He will be followed by Daniel Castro, director from Madrid with experience as a screenwriter both on TV and in the cinema, who presents the short film 75 metros in the competitive section of the FEC. After the sessions in Cambrils, the course will move to Reus continuing with Alejandro Marzoa, the director who has already taken part in the Festival, in 2007 with the comedy Temporada 92-93 (92-93 season) and who this year returns with Padre modelo (Model of a father). Finally, closing the course is the young director Pau Escribano, director of the Crakòvia programme, currently being broadcast by TV3 and also director of Primer contacte, a film featuring Sergi López, and the debut of Escribano as a director of short films.
M'agraden curts! is aimed at university students, but the sessions are open to the general public.
